Ooops, it’s tomorrow & “Musco” casserole

Today-(which is really yesterday, but I’m still up)-was FULLER than a dishwasher on Thanksgiving, and it operated on 3 hours sleep.  Hummm, I thought I’d have time to rest after the cafe closed, but NOOOOOOOOO.  Anyway, went to church, yeah, then had a covered dish dinner-which is one reason I didn’t get to sleep.  I made “Musco” casserole.  Translation: the food in my freezer “must go” so I’ll just put it all together.  So it was a version of chicken divan,…had frozen chicken, frozen broccoli, a bell pepper, some celery and lots of rice.  Oh, and plenty of chicken bouillon and seasonings.  I put 3 cups of rice in the big electric roaster (yeah for bringing home the catering equipment, too) and added 6 cups of water.  Diced the celery and bell pepper and threw that in.  Cut the chicken in big chunks and threw that on top.  Turned on the roaster at 400 and let it cook.  I was making up the directions so I had to keep checking on it…staying up to do that….and when I thought it was close to done, turned it down for the rest of the hours.  After my long 3 hours of being horizonal, I dumped the frozen broccoli florets on top and sprinkled them with oregano and marjoram and a large can of cream of mushroom.  (was planning on making a sauce but, well, you figure it out!) Oh, just remembered I poured the rest of the Madeira wine from the Titanic dinner in on the chicken and rice before it cooked.  There was about 1/3 of a bottle and added some dried mustard.  Well, I thought the rice ended up too mushy but everyone was raving about it.  Good thing they liked it because there was plenty.

So, where was I now, ah, my day.  It worked out great to have dinner after church because we finished about the time I needed to go do a jewelry party ….just down the road…don’t ya just love it!  The party was wonderful and ended just in time to go up to the cafe to meet Monika, the  building owner.  She wanted to get some of her things out….which she did.  She couldn’t get everything because….uhhmm, I forgot to point out the glasses that were hers when my volunteers were packing.  No prob, I think the boxes are labeled and I just have to dig through the plethora of cardboard cubes to find them.  I have until May, teehee.

Then, upon arriving home at 8:00PM, I find Melea crashed on the couch sick.  I made her some chicken soup…the open-the-can kind…and some hot tea and we sipped and sat and watch a bit of tele.

Now, office work…and not yet going to bed…but I am fading.  I have to get up early to meet my helpers at the cafe.  More to pack.  More to clean.  More to move.  So, it is tootles (didn’t know how to spell sianara).

Just wondering if anyone is all the way down here…..if you are, leave a comment…….if you will.

Dea! Yes I agree w/B, “Get some SLEEP!” Or you’ll end up with the flu and not be able to do much of anything. That & get some helpers…! Where’s Tom?!

I know where the glasses are, lol! Look for the black apple boxes–rectangles instead of squares. It is marked on top that they are water glasses. Sadly, they are at the bottom, under a layer or two of wine and water goblets…but you shoudl be able to find them pretty quick.
