Happy Birthday, Girl Scouts~

Girl Scout tea trayOne hundred years ago, one lone woman, Juliette Gordon Low, who wanted to make a difference in the world for girls, founded the Girl Scouts organization. I grew up as a member from Brownie through Senior Scout and ended with a stint as a leader. Many great memories and valuable learning experience were conjured up as I prepared to give a talk at the North Georgia regional birthday celebration recently. The leaders had prepared an afternoon tea and invited me to speak about tea. After singing a few oldie but goldie GS songs, we ended with the friendship circle, arms crossed, right over left, with hands held. After we sang Taps, the “squeeze” worked its way from grip to grip until it made it full circle and we turned the circle inside out to finish.Girl Scout teapot
