40 Days of Soup: Day 6-Turkey Chili

Found: a gift from a few years back-(Cherry Hill Gourmet Good Company’s Roasted Garlic Chili Mix) a decorated jar with all the fixin’s for chili (red kidney beans, cranberry beans, red beans, soy flour, dehydrated garlic, dehydrated onions, dehydrated bell peppers, salt, herbs, spices), just add water and tomatoes. As directed…..then throw in cut off the bone turkey and cook 4 hours so the dried chili beans cook thoroughly. Taste adjustment: too watery and flat..(it has a more than a few years on the shelf!)….extra chili powder, tomato and chicken bouillon, salt and pepper. Hmmmmm??? Not quite there. Ah, add the left over mashed potatoes to thicken it and add another layer of flavor. Yum, that worked.
