40 Days of Soup: Day 5 -Thanksgiving revisited

Thanksgiving morning cooking included the start of day 5 crock pot soup. A pound of field peas with sufficient water, diced onion, diced celery (since that was also chopped for making the dressing), and a few bay leaves. After Thanksgiving lunch, diced turkey and bacon crumbles (from the outside of the baked turkey) were thrown in the pot. Then the rest of the copper pennies (marinated carrot salad-which I love but others don’t and I planned on plenty of it being left over!) that included tomato soup, onions, and bell peppers. Also added was diced ham and glaze. It was a bit sweet from the marinated carrots and the ham glaze so salt and pepper were added. As far as I can remember, this is all that went into Day 5 soup.
