WORLD TRIP DAY 13-Surprise at the end of the path

Saturday started slowly.  I decided not to go with Taylor to the Embassy yard sale and rest a bit from our road trip.  Then Josh and the kids were going on a walk (it’s always family day on Saturday and Josh doesn’t work).  There is a fun park at the end of a long walk (the walkway of the ambassadors…all the Bosnian ambassadors to different countries are on plaques, by year, on the wall) so I decided to join them.  So glad I did.  There was a cook off contest of many embassies in Sarajevo.  Each had the same ingredients to start with.  They all cooked the “goulash” in a pottery pot over an open fire all day.  The ingredients were beef, cabbage, potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant and seasonings.

There was free food and drink and eventually live music.  I got to take many pictures of the contestants.

We ate some bean soup, saw a lamb being roasted on a spit (that’s very common around here) while watching some sheep on the hill!

The kids did a little rock climbing!

I sampled sausage and more proscuitto (that was amazing!)   Taylor joined us later and took everyone home.  I opted to walk home…I needed the exercise after all that tasting!  For dinner, since we had a big tea party happening the next day, we had take out, only it was delivery, like pizza only it was a great salad.
