The day started with a gathering of people at Josh and Taylor’s. The “apple brown betty” was a hit. Josh had also gotten something from the bakery. The Bosnian version of pigs in a blanket. Only their blanket is really big and the pig is very little!
Then Josh and Taylor took me out to a very special restaurant in the city on the other side of the valley. By reservations.
We had all the traditional Bosnian foods. The meal began with fresh whole wheat bread with nuts and slices of cheese with olive oil. We made a dipping sauce with the great Balsamic vinegar and extra olive oil.
It’s front legs were used to hold its stomach together!
They had a wall of photos, one of which is the library before it was bombed. I felt a bit like I was looking at the twin towers in NYC. It’s reconstruction is still in process. And a picture of the river before they straightened it. Here’s the view from the balcony:
