Nostalgia Cookies

Nostalgia cookies were one of the first sweets  to go on my menu.  I wanted a special name for them but “goober clusters” didn’t seem to go with the atmosphere.  I asked my customers for name suggestions after they tasted a sampling.  Almost without exception, I got reactions like, “ooooh, this reminds me of my grandmother’s cookies” or “this makes me think of….” or “I haven’t had these since I was a child.”  Well, the obvious name came to mind because of everyone’s sentimental recollections.

1 package almond bark

1/2 cup peanut butter

1 1/2 cup dry roasted peanuts

1 1/2 cup miniature marshmallows

3 cups crispy rice cereal

Melt almond bark according to package directions.  Stir in peanut butter to blend, then add peanuts, marshmallows and finally cereal.

Drop by spoonfuls onto parchment or wax paper to cool.
