Six Degrees or the number Eight?

Surprises walked through my doors often. One Saturday afternoon, after closing, I went to visit another merchant on the square. Three ladies were shopping on their day trip from Atlanta. They were hungry and “in those days” there was no dining place open at that time. So, of course, I said, “Well, you ladies just come on back with me upstairs to The Baron York and I’ll fix you something yummy.” So, they did and as usual, we began talking. One subject led to another- church, children, music- then one of the ladies exclaimed, “oh, my word, I prayed for you when you had that blood clot!” My daughter had requested prayer at their church music rehearsal.  Small world!?
On another day, I found that a customer lived down the street from my oldest daughter outside of Lawrenceville, GA.  Then one sweet, young couple came in for tea to celebrate their anniversary.  Grandmom was keeping the little ones so they could escape!  They were in the states to raise support or they would be at the Campus Crusade Eastern European staff conference in Slovenia where my son, Seth, would be leading worship and son, Josh and family would be attending.

Then, just today, a couple from Cumming was in. When I showed the prayer card picture of my son Josh and his family, they responded, “Are they in Sarajevo? We have close friends who just moved there, Ben and Rachel.”  I responded,  “Wow, they are on Josh’s team! I know them.” Then David said that he plans to go over there to teach a seminar for them!

So, is it true that there are only 6 degrees of separation between any two people or is it that I have eight children all over the world?
